Specialty Diving Courses


Aware & REEF Fish ID $155 Includes materials

This course is run in conjunction with the REEF Foundation & PADI. During the course learn how to recognize the basic fish families and work towards species recognition. This course can be custom tailored to an individual’s prior knowledge, making it a fun and educational course for all divers. By the end of the program you will be able to conduct a fish survey and submit the results to REEF for their database. The course includes knowledge development and two dives. It also includes a REEF student package, which has all the materials for conducting reef surveys. At the completion of the course you can register as an official REEF surveyor and continue to conduct data collection on your future dives.

Deep Diver $150

Expand your diving world! This course teaches the diver to plan and safely execute dives up to a depth of 40 meters/130 feet. Prerequisites include PADI Adventure Diver certification, 15 years of age minimum & current diving skills in a logbook. During the course there is knowledge development that discusses how deep diving affects the diver’s physiology, decompression sickness and additional safety factors. There are 3 dives scheduled over a minimum of 2 days along the many wonderful sites of the West End of Roatan. This course is a must for divers who may wish to eventually pursue Technical Diving. Enriched Air Diver $160 includes manual and slates

Extend your bottom time, see more and enjoy reduced fatigue. This course will certify you to plan and execute dives using Oxygen Enriched Gas mix of up to 40%. You need to be certified as an Open Water diver and at least 15 years old with current diving skills. During the course you will have knowledge development to establish the basics of safe gas handling and the method of planning enriched air gas dives. You will also learn how to analyze gas mixtures in a diving cylinder, set a dive computer to Nitrox and become acquainted with a gas blending station.

Digital Underwater Photography $180 includes manual and slate

This course will allow you to understand the fundamentals of taking photos underwater in an environmentally responsible manner. There is a steep learning curve when first starting to take photos underwater; taking this course will assist you in getting the photos you want sooner. There is knowledge development and practical training in camera setup, dive preparation and camera failure troubleshooting. There are two dives, the first one in Half Moon Bay where the fundamentals of buoyancy, white balancing, composition and positioning are practiced. Then we head out to the reef for another dive to put into practice your new skills.

Wreck Diver $200

This course develops the knowledge and skills to safely plan Wreck penetration dives. The diver prerequisites are PADI Adventure Diver with current diving experience, better than average buoyancy skills and you must be at least 15 years of age. During Knowledge Development learn about hazards of overhead environments; wreck diving planning, and the rules pertaining to entering wrecks and how to accomplish thrilling dives safely.          

During Practical Training learn about wreck gear configuration, reel use, additional safety skills, fining techniques and penetration techniques. Also learn how to evaluate a wreck for penetration. There are 4 Dives included in the course. It is highly recommended that the dives are done using Enriched Air for the additional bottom time as our wrecks lie quite deep. If not already certified, we can offer Nitrox certification run in conjunction with the Wreck Diver course.

Make underwater movies in this 3-dive course. The knowledge development covers the selection, maintenance and care of underwater video systems. You will also learn how to create a storyboard, types of shots and moves and the basics of getting quality footage. Good buoyancy skills are essential when shooting underwater so above average buoyancy is crucial to your success. As you progress through the dives we will analyze your positioning, framing and shot selection. At the end of the course we will finish your project and create your own DVD movie!

Night Diver $150

This is a 3-dive specialty course open to all certified divers at the Open Water Diver level who are at least 12 years old. Training will cover the essentials of safe diving practices at night with a special emphasis on the unusual reef inhabitants that may be encountered at night. Come find out what the ‘String of Pearls’ is!!

The course includes use of our study materials, 3 dives and the use of our torches. By the end of this course you will be certified to independently plan and dive with a buddy in the night reef realm.

Underwater Naturalist $125

This 2-dive course covers the topics and techniques for identifying the different kingdoms of marine organisms and a variety of aquatic environments. We will also spend time focusing on responsible diver interaction, diving techniques and try to dispel the myths of potentially dangerous aquatic life.

Peak Performance Buoyancy $99

This is a two-dive specialty certification where fine-tuning your buoyancy will help make you a better, safer and sexier diver. With completion of the PPB course expect; to wear less weight, to expend less energy on the dive, to conserve air and maybe have longer dives…..the benefits are many!
